BILE ‘EM CABBAGE DOWN

Cello

THIS PIECE CAN BE PLAYED ON ANY STRING! This video is on the A string.

THE VERSION IN YOUR BINDER STARTS ON AN F#, WHICH IS ON THE D STRING. This video is played on the D string.

THE BOW PATTERN FOR THIS PIECE IS:

Long, small-small

Long, small-small

When you write it out in music notation, that pattern looks like this:

When you play this pattern, pay attention to how much bow you use. Longer bows on the longer notes (quarter notes) and small bows on the small notes (eighth notes). Choose which string you want to play it on, then use these fingers to play the song. You will play the full pattern (long, small-small, long small-small) in every measure.

In the last measure, don’t play the last two small bows that would normally be in the pattern.
